My name is Angie and I was born with paint swatches in my hand. Well not really, but almost. My family started in the paint and decorating business way back in the 60’s and I grew up in it. I’ve been hanging out in paint stores since I was in diapers. While others were playing with dolls, I was playing with paint swatches.

My first room makeovers began in college and involved hanging wallpaper, painting, adding curtains, pillows, and art. Our homes have been fixer uppers and my husband and I worked tirelessly to update them. If there’s a project to make a house look better, we’ve probably done it at least once.

Professionally, I’ve guided thousands of customers to the right paint colors and wallpapers over the past 30+ years and it’s something I love to do. My husband and I owned a brick and mortar paint and decorating shop in Nashville for 13 years and every day was filled with questions about colors and decorating tips. I have a very thorough understanding of color theory and how to choose the right color.

We no longer have the shop in Nashville, but I’ve been doing in-home paint color, window covering, and decorating consultations for nearly 30 years. Additionally, my original blog, Postcards from the Ridge, has dozens of paint color reviews that I began writing in 2013.

How Decorate with ease Was Born

Decorate With Ease is a culmination of everything I’ve learned in my personal and professional life – making it easier for you to create a home you love that’s filled with style and charm. It was originally launched in 2004 as an extension of our brick and mortar paint and wallpaper store located in Nashville. Back then the site offered popular bedding, curtains, and wallpaper from Waverly along with specialty paints and supplies. The current offerings are a little different but the idea is the same.

I believe that anyone, on any budget, can create a home that feels like a haven. It’s not about perfection — it’s about filling your space with meaning, creativity, and care. And this site is all about making it easy for you to do all of this.
